PREVIEW MY STORIES FOR FREE!

As I was playing around on Create Space today (An Amazon company),  I learned that part of their services to authors is allowing us to set up some pages where readers can read a quick synopsis of our books, preview a couple of chapters and submit reviews. I will be anxious to see if anybody finds my previews here!

TECHNOLOGY AND KEEPING AN OPEN MIND

Before I started writing my first novella "ESCAPE" which came out in February of 2013, I was grossy inadequate  and ignorant on how to maneurver around social media. The only thing that I was up to speed on was Facebook. As my books became published, my publisher Michelle Halket at Everheart books kindly suggested that I should get all over social media. Because I know I am not technically very sound, I shunned away from her advise with the firm belief that learning how to set up and navigate social media was going to go very wrong for me. However, at some point something changed and I opened up my mind and began to ask for help. I was blessed that I had some girlfriends who were each proficient in different social media. Health McCullum, published author of "Highland Heart" and other of white magic romantic adventures was kind enough to get me going on twitter. One other friend helped in designing my facebook page and finally I was now confident enough to start my own blog pretty much on my own.

I still don't profess to be the best at this and even still it doesn't come easy. But as I practice getting author pages set up with Goodreads, Library Thing, Manic Readers and other outlets that allow authors to be a part of their sites and I see my name all over a Google search, I am glad that I got out of my comfort zone, asked for help and had the courage to try something new.

MATCH POINT COVER GETS GREAT REVIEW!

I love black and white images. This cover doesn't have too much going on, which is good. Hot guy, not too risque or cliche with the pose. Tennis racket ties in well with the book title. Title and Author name clearly visible and easy to read. I read the blurb for this book and the title and cover fits perfectly with the description. I don't read erotica but this cover and blurb has me thinking about changing my mind.

This review was posted by blogger Amanda Meredith in a feature she did about good book covers vs bad ones. I am thrilled that Amanda chose Match Point as a cover that she thinks really hits the mark!

A HAPPY KINDLE CHRISTMAS

Just in time for the holidays, I broke my Kindle Fire! I thought that I was obsessed and overly attached to my cell phone, but upon my Kindle breaking, I now realize that I am just as obsessed with it!  As some of us tend to reflect about ourselves and our lives at the end of the year, perhaps I should give some consideration and self examination as to why my phone is constantly hermetically sealed to my hip and I am a fish out of water without my Kindle! Just the other day I had to find something that is only on my Kindle and was stopped dead in my tracks and momentarily horrified that I would not be able to get what I needed. That is until I remembered that my husband has a Kindle. Racing upstairs to his man cave, I downloaded what I needed and Hallelujah… I was back in business!  I have a bad habit sometimes at night of listening to music on my Kindle with earphones while falling asleep. Inevitably, when I fall asleep the Kindle falls off the bed crashing to the floor and pulling the earphones and charging plug out. Seems that all of those tumbles off the bed caused damage to the recharging port on the devise and it could no longer take a charge. Ergo unusable.

Happily the holidays, my husband and Amazon have saved the day! As luck would have it, I had not decided on what I wanted for Christmas yet. When my husband saw my pitiful expression and obvious distress about my Kindle situation, he took charge and called Amazon. I guess the Amazon representative took pity on my sad story as well and worked out a deal with my husband to get me plugged back into the world at a discounted price. Don’t you love a happy ending? The only question that remains, is will I wait till Christmas to open it??? Merry Christmas to you all, especially if something breaks!
